Do You Want The TRUTH!?!?
I was listening to the radio on the way home a little while ago and turned it to the AM station and there was this show on called "Coast to Coast." I've heard of this show before, and I knew it usually had some wacko on, but this is the best thing I've heard yet. The reason TPC's forecast track for Dennis was so good is because the government is using lasers in space to make the hurricanes go where they want; they're doing this to make oil prices rise. The way they do it is they shine a laser into the eye of the hurricane, and depending on which direction they want the storm to move, they put the light in that direction or part of the eye. They did the same thing with the hurricanes last year. The idiot who was spewing this bull did not even seem to know that eastern Cuba is not the Yucatan or Yucatan Channel, as he said the hurricane passed through the Yucatan. Amazing!

Its not going to get much better than it did. They had Dennis's landfall pegged within a few miles a few days out. Can't ask for much more..Matt-hurricanewatcher wrote:Not really they did not forecast that west-northwest through central Cuba for 12 to 16 hours. In which case weaken it to a cat1 hurricane. In they where forecasting over Mobile the last 6 hours before landfall. Besides that they did ok.
Looking at the track archive, it looks like Wednesday at 5PM EDT, they had the 5 day track over Pensacola. This moved very little over the next few days....they nailed it.

The Sound Off section in Biloxi's Sun Herald continues to be ripe with suggestions on how to fix storms. I've started keeping a file with all of the fix-its people think will keep us safe. An example from Saturday:
Where do people come up with this stuff?
• The way to mitigate hurricane damage is to use explosives to cleave a cubic mile of ice from the arctic and use 10 ocean-going tugs to tow it into the Gulf of Mexico. By cooling off the water there will be less energy to feed the hurricane.

They did ok?? I'm sorry, but they did more than okay. Out of 100, i'd give them a 92. We all know the NHC has a problem with intensity. Landfall was a smidge East or West of Pensacola the last 6 hours and NOT Mobile! Matter of fact i would extend that out to 12 hours.

That show is funny. They were saying crap like this all last year during hurricane season. They claim the feds pushed Charley into Punta Gorda to avoid it hitting Tampa where the damage would have been significantly more expensive.
My favorite though are teh crackpots who call in claiming that there are aliens living under the Denver airport.
