Prayers please!!!

#1 Postby vbhoutex » Sun Jul 10, 2005 9:29 am

Hurricane Dennis is now bearing down on the Gulf Coast. Apparent landfall will be in the Pensacola to Fort Walton Beach area. STORM2K has somewhere between 10 and 20 regualr posters from that area. My mother also lives in Niceville, just north of Destin. Gulfbreezer, one of our mods lives in Gulf Breeze and has not even gotten back into her house since Ivan and is now looking at another disaster along with literally 100's of thousands of others. Unfortunately, unless conditions change drastically and quickly and nothing indicates they will this is shaping up to be a disaster of monstrous proportions and not only on the coastal areas but inland for hundreds of miles.
PLEASE PRAY FOR THESE PEOPLE FOR GOD'S MERCIES AND PROTECTION.

Say no more, David. As always at this time of year I think of the one's living in the danger area. Looks like super prayers are in order this time. Wishing everyone out there a safe journey through this terrible time.

Already praying David. I went to chat a while ago and learned Sandi is once again in the path, less than 12 months later. Her home, that was destroyed by Ivan, is still not finished. Under construction. She is in a safe place, on high ground she said but of course, fears the worse here for her home close to the beach. As we all do.

Praying, big time.

Thanks for the heads up though, I'm sure some are not aware of the loss Sandi endurred last year. If I could do a search, I'd find that topic she started a few months ago about her Ivan experience. Duckie, if you read this, see if you can find it. We could just include it here, so others would know how and why Sandi is so worried. And her S2K family is.

Strong prayers for protection surely have been focused by all "S2K Prayer Warriors" when it first became apparent that Dennis would be a monster storm.

The light of God surrounds us;
The love of God enfolds us;
The power of God protects us;
The presence of God watches over us.
Wherever we are, God is.

May God grant protection, courage, and strength to all in this storm's target. We hold them in our hearts.

When I first heard it may be headed there, I was praying. Now I'm ramping those up. Hope all are okay and will stay safe.

I posted earlier today from Los Angeles...and am checking in to post again tonight from Scottsdale. I am concerned equally as much for the physical security of Sandi and her family...and the reconstructive efforts that had been started....but am also concerned for the overwhelming shock that she may be realizing if in fact they took another strong hit like last year.

Let's hope we all hear something soon that says she and her family are ok.

Sandi is ok. She had minimal damage to her home thankfully. It is amazing since the eye of the hurricane went in right over her.

My mother, who lives about 25-30 miles ENE of Sandi is also fine. In fact she never lost electricity even though they had gusts to 83 mph.

Oh Thank God! Sandi - so glad your home had minimal damage. I was praying for that or less. And that you'd all be safe. Glad to know your mom is okay too!

Thanks so much for letting us know David. Now I can turn in for the night......

I hadn't checked in here since Friday, but have been watching the weather and praying all weekend. David it was great of you to start this thread and I am so happy that your Mother and Sandi are OK.

Yes we do still have members that could be affected by the remnants of Dennis. There is a possibility of major flooding over the next few days along his path, especially in the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys. So keep the prayers going for everyone's safety.

Dennis surely huffed and he puffed, but he didn't seem to blow the resilient spirit away from our friends and relatives here on S2k. Especially glad to hear that Sandi and family are ok.
