Dennis WILL be retired... Max Mayfield...

#1 Postby ericinmia » Sun Jul 10, 2005 8:47 pm

Max just said on cnn that Dennis will be retired at the end of this year.

I am guessing not just because of the damage in the usa, but mostly what it did to cuba/jamaica/haiti/etc.

He said and I quote, I just reviewed it from my DVR...

"In fact, uh, I'm sure that uh, Dennis uh, will be retired from that list of names and uh, one of the things we do is come up with the new names so umm, we'll be looking for another uhh D name to use in 6 years..."

Thought i'd clarify exactly what he said

I would only agree if it was for his climatological unique-ness...

Good names there. Dustins my kittys name and he is a little devil at his little kitten age. He could be some trouble in 6 years.

Goodness gracious, haven't we already discussed the OBVIOUS fact that Dennis would be retired? He killed 26 so far - that's confirmed. He broke near a half dozen 'July' season records. He was nearly a category 5. IN JULY. Come on people...

We're not discussing it, this is about NHC confirmation that Dennis will be officially retired.

Does the NHC accept suggestions. If so, my vote goes for Derek.

With that I say goodnight and see you all in a couple of days. Definitely need break. Of course, I'll probably "sneak" back in in the meantime.

Stay safe everyone and remember that more casualties occur AFTER the storm arrives.

Interesting comment by the Good Doctor

TPC does not decide names...nor what names are retired.
