Unfortunately the majority of us are clueless about current events. Not to get too political but the weakest part of democracy is often the people. It is still the best thing that's come along yet.

However, individuals who decide to evacuate from the west side of the danger zone...through the center to the east side...well.....perhaps they should not be picking world leaders.

Gosh everyone is getting awfully judge-mental today! I believe they honestly thought it was going to hit mobile and not Pensacola. They thought they were out of harms ways. How many of you who are traveling across country stop to watch TV? You don't if your in a car. Radio you say? My husband doesn't like the radio on as he is driving. I don't think they were idiots... maybe just uninformed. There's a big difference in that! She said she had not been in a hurricane before, so obviously she had no experience on what these storms can do.

Anyone driven long distances with a child? You drive slower and usually have to stop more often. This probably didn't help and they just happen to get caught. At least they were smart enough to find a safe shelter when they realized it was unsafe to continue to drive.

I saw them on CNN...they were traveling from Houston to South Carolina. They went to Houston to visit family and were returning home. They said they were listening to the radio and the radio said it was coming to Mobile so they continued to drive and ran into Dennis in Pensacola. They got scared and felt it was dangerous so they got off of the interestate and parked their vehicle right at the entrance to the hotel where Anderson Cooper was filming. He saw them and they filmed them jumping out of their car and running into the hotel lobby. Cooper later interviewed one of the adult passengers. She said when the storm passed they were going to get back on the interstate and head home.

I'am NOT going to criticize this family, they have been through enough.. I for one am relieved to hear they were able to get to safety before they were injured or experienced any loss of life...
