if that's the case they need to get another plane in the air pronto and get us some recon data, if this thing completes its EWRC, as Ortt suggests, prior to landfall we may see some additional strenghtening

Evidently they haven't worked all the bugs out of the new aircraft and new equipment.Sems like they should have gotten all that resolved before hurricane season.Who knew it would start like this,right!?!?

this is ridiculous, we have potentially the strongest hurricane ever to make landfall on the northern gulf coast and we can't get any recon data with this thing within hours of landfall

The most recent RECCO message is from 1453z - that isn't that freakin' long ago. The people who were posting these messages are probably sleeping since they were up almost ALL night. Recon is out there - be patient.

No way was I blaming the s2k posters just think we should have more vortex messages since being so close to making landfall.
