No say it isn't so! Let's pray for the best. I think my place can take a cat 2 or 3 bu a cat 4; no. It sure looks like cat 4 now. Me and my family will be going to a shelter in the morning.

Did any of the MSGC locals get that recorded message from the Harrison County Civil Defense that all zone B are now mandatory evacuation(about 9:30PM).

if i were living in N.O., i would be high-tailing it out of there ASAFP. I know there is many a mixed feeling on JB but the last column he posted was about the trough rapidly diving south and the ridge building in that should provide a "left hook" prior to landfall. One would be insane to be comforted with a strike call barely east at this stage when your dealing with a storm of this magnitude. imagine rush hour traffic on steroids tomorrow if this track drifts a little more west overnight, there would be no way for everyone to evacuate in that timeframe. nothing but a catastrophe waiting to happen. and i pray the left hook is wrong.

if something like that were to happen...I don't think they'd let people evacuate....not even close to enough time

I'm praying that doesn't happen. The NHC is calling for a NNW turn prior to landfall, and JB's calling for a left hook? I don't see a powerful hurricane, moving this fast, make a left turn.

My hubby is in OS--has to work but sheltering in the hospitas as he is in management there. My son is in NO and has to stay as he is survalience at one of the casinos and if a cane hits will have to remain on the boat even if they close.

I evaced myself, daughter and GS to Meridian but I know Dennis is going to follow us.

I am really anxious.

I know the NAM has been out to lunch at times but the 00z run also shows a strike in Mississippi. NAM is a bit farther west than GFS but still doesn't look good for Mobile or s-ern Mississippi if the GFS/NAM tracks were to somewhat verify.
