I am so scared right now for some of my family members. They decided to ride out this storm in Franklin Creek to move stuff out in case of flooding like with georges. Only about 3-4 miles from gulf and low lying. I sure hope they know what they are doing.

Tim, is there any way you can talk them into getting out of there? I mean like calling them up and begging?

My thoughts are with you and your family.

I agree I think they are crazy but the house stood through Camile, Fredrick, Elena, and georges but they got water from elena and georges from flooding in North Alabama. Thats why they want to stay so after the storm they can move there stuff out. They told me tonight that local mets were still saying they would not get hit very hard.
Crazy,
TIM

earlier tonight (7:00 pm)

I have got family in Mississippi too. Just over the MS/LA near Picayune. (Grandparents, uncle and cousin) They will get some pretty good winds out of this too. And it does not need for it to go much further west to put them in danger.

Local authorities are in the process of alerting everyone that there is a mandatory evacuation of low lying areas. I'm sure they'll get to them if they are in a very low area.

They are not really in a storm surge danger zone (at least i don't think so) but they are prone to backwater flooding from canes.
