"bomb out", "bombing" or pretty much anything with the root word "bomb." Talk about an overused word.

Why? It's actually a meteorological term. It's a system that deepens at a rate of at least 1 mb / hour over 24 hours. It's taught in met schools and military forecasting schools. IT's qualifies what a system is...like baroclinic...baraotropic. The first use of "bomb" I was taught was in military forecasters school in referring to baroclinic systems like noreasters...but you can apply it to tropical cyclones as well. You might as well ban the word trough or ridge :lol:

For me...Georges. The damage to our camps on Lake Pontchartrain was catastrophic. 5 left of 60 that could rebuild. A whole way of life all but wiped out and what is left is tenuous at best.

Really?? I just thought it was some slang word someone on the board made up, kind of like "fish." I stand corrected then. I learned something new today!
