Someone apparently has a secret or something they've heard about you and won't tell you what it is lol..

My mother mentioned to me today.. "If something happens to you before 7/31.. you might have a nicer salary at the beginning of August"..

But I broke down the perameters..

A Raise {can't get till October} Merit Increase {she says that's not it} Bonus {don't get till March} New position {Haven't applied for any} Upping Cart Pushers Salaries {doesn't appear to be discussed right now}..

and they don't give bonuses if you get "Employee of the Month" or any other awards..

She claims she heard this from 3 girls I work with.. My mom now lives at an Assisted Living Facility instead of a nursing home, and 3 girls I work with live their part time..

I'm starting to wonder if she's just finding out gossip because well.. I haven't got the slightest clue what her or my co workers are talking about..

Ignore gossip and rumors. As the saying goes, believe nothing you hear, and only half of what you see.

Yup - I agree BigDog. I ignore gossip as well. And I put gossip into the 'games' category some people like to play. You want to play games? Then get out Monopoly or a deck of cards, to be very corny here. If indeed it's silly games or gossip, I make absolutely no time for it. Gossips want you to be interested and if you're just slightly interested, they'll string you along John. Hate to sound harsh, but I self imposed this rule years ago when I went to work in my 20s. I've followed this rule pretty much since then - with neighbors, family members (they're the worst sometimes!), mom's on my kids' PTA committees. As soon someone say - I heard and then begin whispering, I walk away.
