Poll on 98L/TD# 5

#1 Postby cajungal » Sat Jul 09, 2005 2:44 pm

I was not even going to post this. Because I know the immediate concern is Dennis. And 98L is so far out. But, I am bored, and just want some opinions.

I said no development at all, but I want to change that (I know I can't). I was looking at the northwestern blob, but I didn't see the circulation everyone else saw. I would bet on some development.

Develops... Gulf storm.

The only thing I've looked at besides the satellite is the models. If it goes south of Puerto Rico and Hispanola, it's a GOM storm and I think it will.

It is a very low latitude. My thinking is that it may try to head out to the Yucatan Channel. Way too early to say, I know. But, hey, it is fun guessing right?

i gave it the benefit of the doubt in developing somewhat however climatology tells us that storms that develop this far out this early in the season will historically become fishes

Which I agree to, but this season is anything but an ordinary season.

I'm going to say a 60/40 chance it develops and goes far enough south to be a gulf storm.

The east coast of the United States. I forgot to put Florida threat in the poll. Because I know the residents of that state are sick of any mention of another storm.

I bet we will hear more about this after Dennis makes landfall. Dennis will be the main story for days to come. Stay safe everyone who is in Dennis path. You are in my prayers.

I started a new poll, now that is officially TD 5 and not 98L anymore.
