Are you implying that I don't know where Tampa is?

I am implying that Pinellas is thought of much more as "St. Petersburg/Clearwater" and not so much "Tampa".

Even still, watching my 9MB radar loop of Charley, I find it hard to see how Pinellas got "hammered" much morso than Tampa... considering what we got was considerably less severe than many of our strong afternoon thunderstorms.

Don't get defensive over nothing either. I'm not attacking you in any way. I am stating that I think Tampa is lucky to have escaped so many close calls for so long... avoiding any kind of weather that is actually severe and not "annoying".

I'm not talking about Charley. I'm talking about now. Just cause you aren't getting severe weather doesn't mean others aren't. You apparantly are not watching the weather.

Apprently not.

I guess I'll just leave my opinion as is, because apparently it is too controversial to discuss. Either way, I've got my windows open, I can look outside for myself, I've got my radar loops going... I've got the TV on, and I can confidently say this is far more subdued (at least right now) than what I would expect from a nice afternoon T-Storm.

I think Tampa bay has a real wake-up call coming in the form of a true hurricane hit. But enough is enough... it is just my opinion and I'm not going to sit around and get grilled for having it.

Back to the weather in Florida.

The squalls coming through right now aren't any more serious than a typical summer storm. My only concern will be the high tide tonight. How much higher than noraml is it supposed to be?

Here in north Tampa getting absolutely HAMMERED! Very windy and very heavy rain. And the storm does not suppose to be directly west of us for 6 hours, going to get worse before better. Look at radar the southeast side , not good.
