Pay special attention to the part about the "bowl shaped speedway HELPING the tornado form"

Seriously, it's articles like these that lead public to believe such rediculous old wives tales about weather... "The tornadoes follow the river" and such..

Not sure but we should send an Email or letter to NASCAR, SI, etc...and tell them to stick to Sports since they know that.. I about fell out of my chair laughing when I read that!

The worst part is... I told this story to my husband when I got home from work, and he said "Well, it makes sense..."

The way this sounds that sentence came from NWS.

The bowl shape of the speedway helped the tornado form and it eventually remained on the ground for about four miles, also hitting the Tara Field airport in Hampton, the National Weather Service said. :roll:

thats stupid but if you know nothing about weather i guess it could make sense!! But idk how that came from the nws!
