The pines were snappin'
Me too. I was 13 years old when Frederic hit Mobile. I spent the night huddled under a table with my dog in my parents' house near Dog River, listening to trees hit the roof.

My first hurricane (moved to MS 6 months after Camille), stayed up all night. Damage here in Laurel, MS was unreal. Power out for a week. But the best thing for a 13 year old...NO SCHOOL!!!!!!!! I still compare any hurricane that comes this way to that one. I'm sure if Ivan had hit us, instead of Pensacola, that would be my point of reference.
