I'm not a Pro-Met but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night!
Anyway, that looks like the cdo decaying to me. But it should refire shortly.

I think everyone should sleep on it. By morning we should have a reorganized storm, with a new CDO and possibly a clear eye. You'll go crazy watching every radar frame.

Yeah, I agree. I think I'm calling it a night. I just checked again and it looks like those 2 frames were just a little blip. At that distance away from the tower, who knows...

I stayed up all night watching this thing bomb into a boader line cat5. I took a nap this around noon. I woke up in my eyes hurt so bad they where red. I could hardly open them. My head was hurting bad.

Ok on topic...The banding is becoming better defined. In the first signs of a banding like eye possiblly could be forming. Its moving northwestward.

When is the north turn supposed to start? It looks to me that it should start in then next 12 hours if the NHC track is going to verify. Just a question.I would like to here your input

It appears to be already turning to the northwest up the back side of the ridge. It should stay northwest. With maybe a northward turn as a upper low forms just off the LA coast. I think a landfall just to the east of Mobile. Who knows could be right over it.

I thought it has been going northwest all day overall. The NHC was talking earlier about a turn to NNW or N. Is that happening yet. I do see the ridge riding going on and it looks like the high from the atlantic is about to come in behind the storm and give it a push NNW . Just thoughts from someone who is really clueless about such things.

you can already see the strong yellow bands reforming around the eye. It shouldnt be long before Dennis is fast regainnig his former strength or a large part of it. Ill check back in a few hours when I wake up.

Charley looked kind of like this when it moved back off shore. Then the eye/banding started becoming better oreganized fast.

Charley crossed the narrow western flat part of Cuba. He spent minimal time over land and didn't weaken. Charley stayed very well organized...Dennis on the otherhand fought hard to survive, and he did by keeping his inner core intact.

I would think the fact that the inner core staying solid is the key factor. The western edge looked a little ragged over land, but the fuel is there for the fire now

If you look at the above link I think an eye is trying to form again.

The core is obviously still there and the convection is definitley building and wrapping again. Dennis may be weakened some, but he is far from being hurt!!! Look for CAT3 sometime in the morning.
