Dennis Rewriting History

#1 Postby HURAKAN » Fri Jul 08, 2005 12:22 pm

Dennis becomes the first "D" storm to reach major hurricane since Diana, 1984.

Dennis becomes the most powerful hurricane to have ever existed in the Atlantic Ocean in the month of July.

Dennis becomes the first major hurricane to hit Eastern Cuba since Flora, 1963.

Dennis becomes the most powerful hurricane to have ever hit Cuba in the month of July, and the only 4th tropical system to hit the "Pearl of the Caribbean" in the mentioned month.

Dennis right now hold the title as the most powerful tropical cyclone in the Northern Hemisphere in the 2005 season. WPAC, take that!

Dennis becomes the most powerful hurricane to hit Cuba since Hurricane Fox, 1952, 150 mph.

Dennis becomes the most intense hurricane to form the earliest in a season, sorry Audrey, you are now second!

Also, if you use the same definition of a super typhoon on Dennis (greater than or equal to 130kt), Dennis was Super Hurricane Dennis for a period of time.

Dennis replaces Audrey's place as the most powerful storm to form the earliest in a season.

Whew... That's a crazy bunch of history right there! Can't believe Dennis is changing it all. I look at Dennis... And I see Ivan, unfortunately. :(
