What caused Charley to head NE after crossing Cuba?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

What caused Charley to head NE after crossing Cuba?

#1 Postby dolphinslady » Fri Jul 08, 2005 12:27 pm

Can someone explain why he was heading WNW and then changed his track? And is this possible with Dennis?

Thanks,
Cheryl

Charley's abrupt turn was the result of an unusually strong August cold front. An abrupt turn is very unlikely for Dennis.
