Anyone see the 12z NAM?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

That's a bad run. I don't see that verifying at all.

The storm is already about to make landfall in west central Cuba, not the western tip.

The NAM tends not to be very good in the deeper tropics because that is outside it's domain. However the closer in you get the better it does. That being said Dennis in now inside its domain and it was initialized pretty well so is it a laugher or not, to early to tell.

Am I reading it wrong, or would Dennis have to fall apart and reform, not to mention head almost due west and clip the western end of Cuba, to verify that model?

Bad run or not, the 11am discussion was justified using the NAM, amongst others, so should it make another such run, you could hardly discredit it...however I would agree this run is pretty weird...

cheers,

Yup. MNy opinion it needs to lay off w/e its doing. Its already made landfall in cuba. No way its even possible to verify that track.

Cuz the NAM wasn't cracked out when they made the discussion. This run is to be discredited..

UKMET has done fine..been consistent and moved slightly east toward the LA/MS border last run.

The NAM was discussed because of it's superior handling of the ridge and especially the upper low/wave over Texas.

Dennis has not made landfall yet, the eye has to cross the coast and right now the eyewall is hugging it.
