Need help with this

I am not a weather person at all, I need some SERIOUS advice. I don't know much about weather, don't pretend to. However, I see on the radar here:

That the eye appears to be moving north. Is this a turn? I work for a fire department in Central Florida and I am scheduled for work tomorrow. I also work part time for a hospital and I am scheduled to work 2pm-10pm tonight. That means if the storm comes this way, I have about 3 1/2 hours to prepare in daylight, or else I will do it at night. All BS aside, should I board up, or what?

Short answer: No, you don't need to board up. This is going to be at least 100 miles off the West Coast and probably more. Maybe a few squalls and certainly not a good day, but nothing like Charley/Frances/Jeanne. More like Ivan...

Thanks. With the eye of Charley passing overhead, and the eye wall of Jeanne and Frances passing right over us, I really believe we had some of the worst of last season. There are still alot of blue tarps around here. I just got my roof fixed about 3 weeks ago.

FYI- The Sheriff's dept here is telling deputies to stand by for storm scheduling. The fire dept is holding off on that for now. Also, the news reports they are prepping to move the shuttle back to the VAB.

I agree with brent but always keep up with the storm and don't let your guard down.

If the Space Center moves the shuttle in then I will be a little more concerned, They might know somethig that we don't :roll:

It's called taking precautions. Thats a big chunk of money sitting out in the open. I doubt they know anything that the NHC doesn't.

NASA will err on the side of caution. I wouldn't read too much into that if they make the decision to roll back the shuttle.

It's a precaution... they won't even launch the thing if there are high clouds. They don't want another explosion in the middle of the mission.
