There likely find that Dennis is bombing at this time. Reason is it has a deep red Cdo. With a developing pin hole eye. Outflow is perfect.

Here is my Guest for the vortex...

They will likely find that Dennis is around 145 to 150 mph.
They may find that the pressure has droped into the mid 940s.

That is my guest lets see if I'm right!

I believe the lowest pressure recorded in a hurricane before August was 946 millibars in Audrey of 1956. I think that record is about to be broken .

It's probably a little stronger now, maybe 140 -145 mph, but it's not likely to get to be much stronger than that, because it's not symetric yet.

The Cdo is perfectly round. The only thing that would make it more impressive is it to turn black on Ir. The system looks very good.

I thought it was Gilbert. Can someone confirm Gilbert's pressure?
Thanks

Gilbert holds the all-time record low pressure in the Atlantic basin (888 millibars). It was a September hurricane.

Observation Number: 04
Time: 1100Z
Position: 18.3 North 74.9 West
Flight Level: 7310 meters
Flight level winds: 28 knots // 190
400 millibar height: 7761 meters

Comparing position to satellite, looks like plane has entered the outer bands from the southeast...
