850 mb: 146 kt - 20% = 117 kt (or 135 mph) at the surface

925 mb: 140 kt - 15% = 119 kt (or 137 mph) at the surface

Math is not the real question, it is the altitude of 850 and 925 mb. What is the ratio at the respective levels to correlate to surface speed?

They don't have luxury homes that can withstand those winds either. Remember how destructive Charley was as a Cat 3??? This is crossing more of the island too... going to be lashing the south coast all night.


Well the northern, not eastern eyewall....if it comes ashore then theyd get the eastern. Still the northern wall is strong....needs to stop torturing them and cross the coast.

The 850 millibar height for that observation was 1148 meters, which is approximately 3766 feet.

Its pretty wierd that Stormcarib.com doesn't have a Cuba forum.

We should fly over cubas air space anyway.. What are the going to do send migs into the cane to shoot it down...we need more recon...
