That is a picture of a cat4 hurricane. I would not be suprized if recon was in there they found 125 to 130 knots flight level winds. I would also not be suprized if they found pressures down another 5 millibars near 946 milibars. This thing has gotten strogner but where it the recon???

Recon info has comed in saying 146 knots which is 135 knots surface. This thing is a boarder line cat5!!!!

Remember most storms weaken in the gulf before they hit land so even if it enters the gulf a cat 4 it still should weaken significantly in the gulf. The gulf isn't a favorable place for hurricanes.

Apparently the NHC doesnt think so, or does other mets around here....all of em have it maintaining strength in the gulf.

Most impressive hurricane I've EVER seen in July... absolutely incredible.

Poor Tip of Cuba. They are about to get oblierated by a Cat 4. :(
