NE Florida is not anywhere near out of the woods. Most hurricanes that hit this are are backdoor hurricanes coming in from the big bend.

Go look at the historical paths of Hurricanes coming from the Gulf.

Canes have a tendency to curve NE once they are near land.
Charley spared us last year by going south. Had Tampa been hit, Jax would have too.
