I think the landfall will be to our east near Gulf Shores/Pensacola just like Ivan. But, yet, my dad is getting all excited and trying to say "Let's head out now". We never left before, so don't know why he is getting so excited now. I got to work, and I can't afford to miss. Unless we go under a warning and have to close or something. Everytime in the beginning when they have all the models pointing towards us, it always veers to our east. Same thing is happening again. All the models are pointing to our east again like I knew they would.

Yeah, my dad just called from north central Mississippi wanting to know if he should come down to help board up. I told him to hold off, but he gets so nervous when his "little girl" is threatened. My house is very easy to board up but dhweather's takes an army
Lord, this is nervewracking.

Here's a page that you may find interesting:

And by the way mobilebay, I'm a graduate of South Alabama, so I spent quite a bit of time in your neck of the woods. I also covered Ivan last year on the Eastern Shore.
Did you do any work with Dr. Bill Williams?
Sure...Dr. Bill was my advisor. I also had a professor named Dr. Blackwell who knows tropical weather as well as anyone.

Just heard this on 870am, NOLA. A caller called in and said he tried booking 4 rooms for 3 nights in Lafayette for his family. They quoted him $18,000!!!!! They said it was $1300 per night per room plus tax. That's a damn crime.
Also they said the majority of hotels within a normal 5 hour drive of New Orleans are booking up. I just spoke with a friend and she had to make reservations in Marshall, Texas. That was the closest she could find.

That almost sounds too far fetched to be true.
