Beautiful eye

Looking at the floater, the 11th and 12th frame skips a bit. Seems the center is located a bit more north with a nicely formed eyewall now.

I'm not saying the jog means anything before anyone gets on my back.

Just saying any little skip more north is further devestation for jamaica.

got a comma look to it now too... will lay odds it will continue to intensify quite a bit before hitting the island.. but then isn't that what has been predicted? LOL but you can look at it and just know it will.

I would not be suprized if recon found this to be a 968 millibars/100 mph hurrricane. Looks real good.

In the past, how has a strong cat 2 to 3 affect a ridge?

Tropical Cyclones usually don't effect a ridge that much. The Cyclone usually takes what the Ridge gives.(path of least Resistance).

A tropical cyclone over cat3 can pump laten heat/energy into the Atmosphere in which builds a ridge to the north. The stronger the hurricane the more energy it can pump into the Atmosphere=A more westward movement for Caribbean or Tropical Atlatnic system.


OMG look at the satellite now. That is a classic small cdo around a small clouded over pin hole eye. In some blacks are starting to form over the northeastern quad. Expect a cat2 very soon. Maybe even a cat3 Jamaica landfall.
