I remember staying up all night as Ivan came over Jamaica. It was an amazing night listening to them and posting with y'all...

I remember them telling people to board up their houses just as Ivan was approaching Jamaica, which worried me a bit.......

Oh My Gosh......How could any of us forget listening to it???
How extremely calm the people were, with the devestation going on around them. And the young girl coming in, worried about her family...I think many of us were in tears.
Is that station still around by chance?

Just now:

"Nothing will kill the spirit, Dennis can't kill the Jamaican spirit."

They've been thanking those wellwishers from abroad who've been calling in.

Yeah, I bet they would love nothing more for the storm NOT to come their way. You wouldn't hear them saying, "I hope the Hurricane hits, so my insurance can cover it!"

Those people are special. I admire them! I will be listening tomorrow along with you guys!

We can definitely learn a lesson from their attitude and perspective. Storms for them are a way of life. They were grazed (hit hard but grazed) by Ivan last year and now Dennis appears to be aiming right at them. On TV a Jamaican lady had a great metaphor, I forget the exact wording, but she compared the ocean's rise to a great monster that swallows everything up in its path.
