Cuba Radar Sites

#1 Postby TampaFl » Wed Jul 06, 2005 9:36 pm

Here is the link for the Cuba radar sites to track Hurricane Dennis. The ones marked with the red dots are the only ones operational at this time. At least we can all track Dennis as he approaches and crosses Cuba.:D

Thanks, my link from last year wasn't working.

Wonder if power is off on the east part of the island, as no sites seem to be working there now.

FYI...the eye of Dennis is now in the range of the Cienfuegos/Pico de San Juan radar.

I noticed the Gitmo radar display made it seem as if the radar was pretty badly attenuated all day. It made it difficult to pick out the center.

In any event, Dennis should make a pretty close pass to Cienfuegos.

Here's hoping the radar stays up, though the radar will likely lose power - and even if it has a backup generator, they might not have a backup power for sending it to their web server, and out to the rest of the world.

They probably should have the Cuban MacGyver on call.

cheers,
Tony
