I step away from the computer for a few hours and this happened. I am impressed of how well Dennis looks, watch out for this one!

I think it has perfect mix to become a very powerful storm. It has perfect upper level enviroment, perfect outflow with alot of hot water. This thing will very likely become a cat3 or lower in cat4 by the time its south of Cuba.

Well, so much for trying to stay calm about it.

Dennis definitely looks like a cane now, but not a very major one. I agree that development is continuing, but at a relatively languished pace.

And I don't see this path straight through the middle of Jamaica, although I don't rule it out. It looks much more likely to skim to the north. I see nothing to indicate why it would be steered further west, which is why I say that. To me, it looks like at least the short-term track of Dennis is very good, and I'd be very surprised to see a major deviation in the next two days.
