I know, its hard to believe some still think its coming to Florida.

Nothing is finalized yet, but chances are getting less and less drastically for that state. The ridge is quite strong, in fact it may be stronger than first predicted which implies even more west shifts.

It looks like New Orleans isn't out of the woods yet.

Thanks. I was thinking more of a abrupt turn to the left. Got it now, thanks.

New Orleans is definitely a city of concern at this point.

It should be noteworthy that A98E appears to be sane with Dennis.

What's up with that?? A98E was great model comic relief !!!

I know there have been few of those "crack-induced" tracks recently. I'm dissapointed! It was always a good stress reliever.

Just for the record I live in Florida but I don't think it's coming here. As a matter of fact I am thanking God that the models are trending west not that I wish our neighbor's to the west any harm. My husbands job depends on good weather. No work No pay!!!! I do however feel for those in its path.

It's also hard to believe a great deal of Texans utterly believe it will come to them as well...however it's probably more likely Texas than it is Florida...or am I backwards...

I still think Florida has a much better chance than Texas ONLY because of the Panhandle. If this westward shift continues, that may need to be adjusted.

I agree. TX has a better chance than FL at this point. In my view, the strength of the ridge could very well determine whether this is a TX (likely upper coast if at all) storm or LA/MS storm.

Added to my previous post, I will give you this, Brent. I won't completely rule out the Panhandle until another day or so.

No kidding. It must have just gotten paroled out of a stint at Parchman for good behavior.

I'm actually thinking a landfall like in Mobile where strong winds affect the Western Panhandle is still possible... but as of now, I think SE LA is the most likely place for landfall.

Not that... at least yet. "Trending" normally means a shift westward over a series of runs. Just one run and then the next run back the way it was isn't a trend.

I don't know anyone here who WANTS their home destroyed, but hey, that's just me.

And maybe some Texans "utterly" believe it's possible because some of the mets are saying so. (btw, I've seen nobody who "utterly" believes it). It looks like you missed my other reply to you earlier.

I don't think it will, but then again, I'm not a met. Everyone along the Gulf Coast should watch it closely as conditions are always changing.

The models are flip flopping by the hour. But consensus is this will be a Mouth of the Mississippi event. Most of the models are in strong agreement.
