Vigorous Low Off Africa.
UKmet seemed to have jumped on this system off Africa and logically speaking, given the favourable conditions which do lie ahead it seems we may have an Emily down the line sooner than later. My concern is posting from the Windwards what kind of path or projectory would this system likely take, as a weakness is forcast in the mid atlantic later down the week.

B.S. Bertha in 2003 developed into a hurricane quickly when it came off the coast and look where it hit..
What? Bertha in 2002 was a GOM storm. In 2003 Bill was a GOM storm as well.
Are you talking about Bertha in 1996?
