Well RECON should be in there right now, so we will know if we have the 1st hurricane of 2005 by later in the afternoon.

Good point on the NW quadrant, but however, looking at the images it really looks like an eye is forming. Now I am no professional metrologist, but this looks like it is really getting ready to get it's act together

It has good shape once it gets its act together. But the core is still broad/disoreganizing. In which case oreganizing slowly. There is no eye on Ir/Visible satellite. The 85h data shows no eye. As of yet the core of this is not as oreganized as Cindys yesterday at its peak.
I do expect a cat2 hurricane over the next 48 hours. An a hurricane 5am est tomarrow.

Don't think it is an eye... you don't really have any deep convection on the NW side of it. I think the center is a smidge east of that area anyway... right under the deep convection that is beginning to fire up again.
