She brought me everything - downed Pecan limbs (on the order of 18-22' each); blew off molding I have to repair, a flooded street and finally my power went out around 2:30ish only to wake me up with that power surge sound and then realizing I had to reset my alarm clock, that forced me to think and stay up longer while the winds were howling. I still don't have digital cable or internet service. Frankly, I was kind of surprised she was as ferocious as she was. Tropical storms are primarily rain events when they come through here, but Cindy brought the winds. A good time was had by all at my house until my alarm clock went off at 7 and I realized I had about 4 hours of sleep and have to saw away tonight. Ugh.

I still can't help to wonder if Cindy was a minimal cat 1 or not. I suspect
there will be much discussion about that, particularly in the NOLA area.

I think Cindy will be upgraded to a hurricane also. I slept through most of it. I've got a bunch of small limbs in the yard like with Ivan. Now I can turn my attention to Dennis.....MGC

what a night, indeed! cindy woke me up before 4am with high winds, heavy rain (4" per hour, acc. to officials), and vivid lightning! i was not expecting the lightning at all. that was a very scary hour as i think a funnel cloud passed nearby--- shortly after that a tornado warning was issued for an area just north of us and some damage up there has been reported! thank goodness it's over! i know we have to watch dennis now, but i don't wanna! :(

I have been through many tropical storms and hurricanes. Cindy did not seem like a TS to me!

After Francis last year we were without elect 9 days south of Jacksonville and we are 200 miles or more north of the landfall point!

While we only got tropical force winds with the highest gust recorded at 71 mph, the high winds went on for hours when a feeder band trained over us. Lots of big trees and widespread damage to power lines and it overwhelmed the local power company repair crews.

Wow

I spoke with my son in Marrero LA a little while ago. He said that a small tree was knocked down in the back yard and he was afraid the windows were going to break because so much debri was hitting them. All is well though there.

Here in Ocean springs it was rough for a while. I went to be about 2:45 am and a tornado warning was announced for OS. I was going to wake my daughter and GS when they showed where the tornado was and direction of mivement and discovered it was moving away from us.

I woke again at 5:30 to really high wind and torential rain, If that was a TS I dread a hurricane.

Glad you all are safe. Refill your hurricane kits and keep your eyes pealed to the gulf.

We lost power in Lafitte at about 12:30am, just before the eye passed over us. I went outside and emptied my overflowing rain guage. Tree limbs everywhere! when it cranked back up I went inside and tried to sleep, but winds howled just as bad as before. only 3.5" of rain on the backside of the storm, for an estimated total of over 9.5" of rain from Cindy. Power was restored today about 2pm. Worst TS I've ever been in.
