Does SE FL need to watch?

#1 Postby boca » Wed Jul 06, 2005 9:44 am

I'm personally not worried about this one because the strong ridge is protecting atleast South Florida I can't see a hook to the NW as it will continue hopefully thru the Channel away from us.

We certainly can't sound the all clear yet, but I'm a lot more sanguine than I was at this time yesterday.

I think we'll get maybe a scattered shower out of this one.

In my opinion, as we learned from Charley last year, if we're anywhere within the cone, we have to watch it. Currently, we're in the cone:

I personally dont think se florida has to worry to much except for rain. On the other hand the "cone" keeps shifting to the east as now my area is in the probability area. Watch and wait I guess

LOL, yep me too. I SHOULD be doing my laundry and my work, but alas, here I sit waiting on the NHC to update their graphics, and waiting to see what others have to say about Dennis. Darn it, Storm2K, why do ya have to be so good and interesting?!

Hey wxwonder12. We are in Royal Palm Beach near Madison Green. I am watching Dennis closely and also that new wave coming off Africa. Have you seen all of those storms moving across equatorial Africa? They look like a freight train!! It usually doesn't look this way until around Labor Day. I guess we're in for a very busy season. 8-)

Charley passed 150 miles to our West here in Fort Lauderdale and it was a beautiful day as the storm was making landfall. I was outside at the pool actually wondering when the weather was going to go to hell... Never did that day for us. Hopefully we will get a beautiful weekend out of Dennis as well.

Sprink52- I'm in the acreage and am also watching closely. I think for us this will just be a rain maker, wondering alot when they start comming off Africa. We don't need a mess like we had last year!!!!

This storm doesnt have our name written on it. Looks to be a North GOM storm. However, there will be many more storms this season, and with the strong Bermuda High, watch out  .
