I knew there was a reason my sinuses and joints were beginning to throb.
City Park/Bayou St. John vicinity...winds beginning to pick up and rain intensifying from steady to heavier in bursts. We've had 5 power interruptions in the last 20 minutes. Just deep flickers, but I wouldn't be surprised to spend the night in complete dark come midnight or so.
All downhill from here, fellow New Orleanians!

Yeah, somehow I enjoyed the yellow glow more than the blue glow when the power went out. And thanks to Steve, we're all now thinking that we should have stocked up on Abita (Amber tho).

There is a report on Katc that Grande Isle has recieved 7 inches of rain and that's before the power went out.
WOW! I said it in a post this morning... look at the moisture. It doesn't llok pretty.
Rob even said he is surprised it's not a Cat. 1 as it's wrapped up very nicely over the last few hours. 99mph gusts on an offshore bouy.
That's a nasty storm!

Storming in Metairie as it has been for about 2 hours. Wow. This is more than I thought we'd get. I just finished watching Fox 8 and they marveled about how Cindy didn't (so far) take the forecasted track. They see her slowing down and kind of nosing up more northward. Bob ran a very long radar loop and was fairly convincing. He's upped water potential here from 2-4" to 5-8". Looks like it's gonna be a longer night than I thought. Time to pop another cold one.

Very heavy rains and wind rain now. It is storming here. Woke me up out of a sound sleep.
I did not think it would be this bad.
