FYI, in my area I have a Tornado Watch due to expire at 11 p.m. We had several storms during the day, very heavy rain but then the sun popped out mid afternoon. Got somewhat humid. Fully expected storms on the east side of Cincy, where we live, but so far - nothing. Shouldn't complain after seeing reports of damage down south. Poor people - your heart just aches for them.

Breeze, so glad you're okay! What a night you had. Your nerves must be shot today and I'm sure you were dead tired too. Hopefully Tuesday will be calmer but I did hear there might be more severe wx on tap for tomorrow. Yikes, wild wx. I don't know Garret well yet, but I'll certainly pray we all hear from him very soon. And that he's safe.

So Miss Mary is okay. TLC? Cyclone?

Glad to hear just about everyone is accounted for ... but I sure would like to hear from Garrett real soon. A lot of us are on edge hoping that everything is ok with him, and his family.

Cantore is reporting from a heavily damaged Pierce City, which is 6 miles NW of Monett. Hoping and praying Garrett's absence here is just a power outtage or computer probs, and nothing serious.

ME TOO!!!!! Just saw a report from Monett showing a destroyed house!!! Said the Pierce City tornado just hop skotched right into Monett! 3 are confirmed dead in the Pierce City/Monett area. Just keep the prayers flowing for everyone and especially for Garrett and his family. Looking on the bright side I am presuming he is helping those in need and/or without power.

BREEZE!!!!! SO GLAD YOU ARE OK!!!! HOPE THEY LEAVE YOU ALONE TONIGHT!!!

So glad you are all accounted for and safe!

Breeze, I am also the "old fashioned" type. I pull the plug on the puter and monitor during storms. I have fried 2 modems (all comes from watching radar during storms!) I am not about to do it again!

SO GLAD YOU ARE ALL SAFE :)

Nashville aka Pandemonium city!!

#38 Postby Cyclone » Tue May 06, 2003 11:19 am

Oh man!!.. it has been incredible here and around Nashville - Sunday night was awful, recorded a wind speed in my back garden of 63 mph - needless to say at that point I ventured inside!!! :grr: :o :grr:

Woke up Monday morning to find Channel 2 News reporting from right outside my window!! (well.. down the road a bit) - at the bottom of my road, people were rescuing neighbours in boats!!!! About 3 ft of water!! Unbelievable!!

Then yesterday we had Golf ball size hail that gave our dog a bit of a headache!! lol He came inside when he realized what was going on! Anyway, right after the hail came the wind, that brought a few trees down on my drive... oh man!! Crazy stuff!! And the tornado warnings were just going crazy!! Last night, I did manage to take a picture of a wall cloud that was circulating, directly above - first time I've been scared in a while!!

Anyway... being on the lookout again today. We have blue sky now, but that's just a ticking bomb! Got that eerie feeling!

Stay safe everyone.

Donna, extremely difficult to "have to do." Thunderstorms are so common in Florida in the very last days of spring, summer into early autumn. The plug will be in and out of the wall so many times. The power strip/surge protector and house surge protector should reduce the worries.
