TD4 Looking good even at this hour

#1 Postby DAVE440 » Tue Jul 05, 2005 3:48 am

Just took a look at NWS trop Satellite. Convection really firing up in the center and its taking on some symmetry with outflow looking pretty good except for the e and ne quadrant.

I think we'll be looking at Cindy by the next advisory.

Well, 03L has been upgraded to Cindy.

The track has also been shifted west slightly. I don't think this should really come as a surprise to anyone who has been closely watching any storm in that area in the last couple of years or so. It's not a shocker to me anyway. This thing sorta reminds me of Ivan, just weaker and starting farther west. Also, the movement is no longer WNW; it's now W @ 17 mph.

I think they got them mixed up. td4 looks ten times more organized than cindy, yet still a td. I enjoy the comfort of data too, but at some point you can make just the tiniest of extrapolations from sat pics.

Well... the reason they upgraded Cindy was due to recon. They'll probably upgrade 04L once visible satellite images come in. It's not a good idea to upgrade a storm based on infrared.

Yeah....go figure....TD4 does look like it has its act together better.

They're going by Satellite I'm sure for TD4 and not recon...but even based on Satellite...I'd give TD4 more clout. Still guess they gotta fly in there before making it official.

I did notice the More westerly course also...and as already mentioned....no surprise when they're in this region.
