SEVERE WEATHER THREAT AREA CHECK IN POLICY!!!

#1 Postby Rainband » Mon May 05, 2003 7:58 pm

In light of the current severe weather events and the unknow whereabouts of some of our members..The Administrators and Moderators have considered inacting a severe weather threat area check in policy...We would like suggestions on the specifics and details on how to go about this. We had a few idea's about emailing your telephone number to an Administrator and having it stored where they can access it in the event that a severe weather event affects you and you don't check...We just want to make sure our FAMILY here at STORM2K is safe.. Remeber these telephone Numbers will be kept in Administrative confidentiality.. If you decide to provide your number..also provide the name to be asked for in the event a call is made... IE I am Rainband..aka Johnathan..This is to avoid embarassment!! LOL If you have any ideas, suggestions or comments please post them here..Remember this is optional and your not required to provide this information..JUST an idea...Pray for our unaccounted FAMILY and all involved.. TICKA will post the email addy here!!! :D

Thanks for your time!!!!

I just emailed my home phone number to Ticka (it's also listed on my Weathermatrix member profile).

I already have vbhoutex's, ConstructionWx, and Barometer Bob's phone numbers written on a notepad in case of an emergency, and am going to add Marshall's.

We're family here, and if (God forbid) a tornado struck this area (or something happened to me healthwise), I wouldn't want everyone wondering and worrying if I was okay--or why I suddenly stopped posting and my email became invalid.

Thanks,
Perry

Well, knowing that i'm 14, and my mom hates me on the internet because of all the stalkers(im not saying there are any on this site), I can't give my phone number. But, if you hear of Topeka getting hit, it probably wasn't me, we dont get anything anyway. If we do get something, the library has many computers, and i would have access. ;)

I must back Johnathan up on this!!! Obviously this is a voluntary thing, but we do care about our members and want to be sure all are well. The May tornado outbreak made it painfully clear to us all how fleeting safety can be and freaked quite a few on this board out wondering who was and wasn't ok as several were in the direct path of tornados.

Once again, please use the link Johnathan gave to let admins have your name, number, and location so we can check on you if there is a major weather outbreak of any sort in your area. As Johnathan says NO ONE EXECEPT THE ADMINS WILL HAVE THIS INFORMATION. PLEASE DO IT TODAY!!
