The largest catfish I saw caught was over thrity six inches long. We didn't have scales to weigh it but it was very thin because it had been on the beds and half starved. It still took three of us to hold her. The biggest fish I caught was a bass weighing about five pounds.

I LOVES to catfish, mainly use "Friskies" in a can :D Just kidding!

YES....I catfish when ever I get a free moment, as of late, it's been MONTHS! The largest one? A 18 lb Channel Cat......I use chicken liver for bait and my "Super Secret, Secret STINK bait!" 2 cups of Bran Flakes (cereal) 1 can Sardines, 4 drops of garlic oil and mix until it becomes a sticky,STINKY dough......."Ummm, Ummmm.....I can SMELL it now!"

I used to work on a catfish farm.. the largest that I ever seen was an APP and an Albino Cat fish.. Not sure on the size but I had to move it out of the sane net so it would not beat the smaller fish to death.. I had to hug the fish and I could barely get my arms around it.. I used it's side fins for leverage and they were about 12 inches long each. From picking it up I would say it weighed around 25-30 lbs.
Stink Bait is the BEST for cat fishing IMHO.. just let it sit on the bottom for the big ones or bobber it for the small to medium ones.

I used to fish in the Miss. river all the time for catfish. I have caught White Catfish(albino) cats up to about 35 lbs on rod and reel and 60+ on trot lines
Blue Cats up to 50lbs on rod and reel and 70+ on trot lines.
The biggest fish I have personally witnessed being caught was a 104 blue cat caught on a limb line using live Bream for bait.

Still new to the fishing game, but I caught a 26" redfish (put up one helva fight)

My funniest (is that a word?? :) ) catch was a 3 lb bass on light tackle, that sucker fought....but tasted real good....

Fishermen in northern Thailand have caught the biggest catfish on record -- a 646-pound (293-kg) giant the size of a grizzly bear -- and eaten it, the WWF and the National Geographic Society said on June 29. The giant catfish, believed to be the largest freshwater fish ever found, was caught along the Mekong River...
