Danny flashbacks

I am having visions of hurricane danny back in 1997...2 days out they were saying Cameron, LA for landfall and we know how that turned out. Do any of you proffessionals know if this is a similar synoptic set up. It seems like weak steering was the cause of Danny's fickleness, and it doesnt seem like weak steering will be the problem here, IMHO. There are a ton of storms that were supposed to hit SW LA though only to get pulled east. I tend to think that this will move more in a direction toward Grand Isle, Vermillion bay. I dont think my area has much to worry about at this point. But I will say I am more interested now than I was.

Um

Danny is not like 03L at all except that the landfall will be along the same lines.

Danny came from a MCV that came off of LA into the gulf.....03L is from a tropical wave.

I remember Danny quite well. It moved inland and advisories were dropped. Then lo and behold it re formed over land in eastern NC and spawned a tornado in Norfolk VA. Dumped ALOT of rain here too :eek:

then, turned into a TS and struck Nantucket.
