This has trouble written all over it.

It doesn't make a difference whether or not this disturbance becomes a TD before making landfall, skirting or whatever the Yucatan Peninsula. If this gets in the GOM it has trouble written all over it for someone along the GOM coastline.

Boy, if the Yucatan wasn't there to hender it, we'd have a pretty potent system on our hands in a few days. Other than land, it doesn't look like there's anything to slow its development down. Every visible looks better and better.

Its a good thing that the Yucatan is there. Kind of like a Texas speed bump.

I really doubt we will see a landfalling hurricane,I think the Yucatan will keep that from happening.

I can't believe how rapidly this would develop if the Yucatan wasn't there.

Why? Hurricanes from from disturbbed weather in the Gulf lots of times. We already have a foundation with this one. Once it emerges in the Gulf, it should still be a pretty good wave...depending on how well it can get going before getting to the YP.

The waters are very warm. It just depends on how quickly it goes over the Yucatan. If it is a fast mover, then it could intensify. If it would make landfall in Louisiana it would be a first for the month of July. I am amazed at this season already! It seems like every week we are discussing something new.

I'm starting to think more northern gulf coast now. For some reason, I don't see it going to Mexico / South Texas anylonger.

The Yucatan is almost as bad a speed bump as western Cuba

Isidore spent what, a week over the Yucatan before heading to NOLA,
and kept its LLC intact.

Yeah...but the inner core got tore up...I suspect this will keep a LLC though because it seems pretty broad...
