Arabian Sea storm in a few days?

#1 Postby senorpepr » Sat Jul 02, 2005 9:42 pm

I was just taking a look at the models (mainly UKMO, GFS, and NOGAPS) and it looks like they are hinting at some development off the coast of Pakistan and India around the 6th and 7th. This development looks like it will spawn from a blob of monsoonal convection over India that will drift westward. Regardless, it is something that bear watching, although we've seen a few rouge systems that the models have projected a few times already this year.

My son on the USS Carl Vinson, somewere in the Indian Ocean (I think) reported to me today heavy seas and high winds. Wonder if they are near this disturbance.....MGC
