if we will have a viable system just east of the Islands before the NW Caribbean Invest gets it's act together -- thoughts anyone?

Agree Dixiebreeze. It sure has become more concentrated the last several hours :eek:. Persistance is the key.

I'd bet the south 40 there will be an Invest issued for this system before noon Sunday.

I think if you look closely at visible satellite (not infrared), you'll notice that a majority of what you're seeing associated with this blob is nothing more than cirrus blowoff from the very limited convection. On infrared, it will look like a big blob because the cirrus temperature is roughly the same as the convective cloud tops.
