The NW Caribbean

#1 Postby Steve H. » Fri Jul 01, 2005 5:26 pm

The last few frames of the visible pix table show our wave getting a bit better organized. I think this one will develop folks, as it enters the GOM. Cheers!! Maybe a depression by tomorrow. Where it may head is a bit confusing, as some of the globals still show a troughiness in the east, by it may well bypass this and stay on a NW course. Getting interesting 8-)

Steve ... I'd be one of the first on the bandwagon here, but I don't see what you're talking about. The whole system doesn't look any more impressive than this morning ... and in fact, looks a little less impressive since yesterday.

Give it a little time folks....patience! Convection is beginning to build in a SE to NW arc and it is showing some turning at mid levels. I am sticking with a depression by tomorrow night.

This wave will need to inhale and exhale a few more times before it generates a LLC. But it seems to be holding itself together to do just that. Its early, early July so you just have to be a little more patient.

The convection appears to be on the increase tonight:

While early July is normally pretty quiet, this season nothing will surprise me....I'm keeping my eyes on the NW Caribbean. If my increasing confidence of a 1995-like season verifies, we'll witness several named storms develop between now and August 1st.
