Another bouy adrift 41001 but recovered rapid

#1 Postby cycloneye » Fri Jul 01, 2005 12:43 pm

Station 41001 broke free from its mooring and has been recovered. It will be restored to service when it can be worked into the schedule. When the date is known, it will be posted in the weekly maintenance report.

http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/station_page.php?station=41001

This is getting serious now 2 bouys went adrift thankfully this one was recovered rapidly located east of Cape Hatteras.

By the way, is normal for the buoys to drift away once in a while?

Can underground movement (earthquake) cause a buoy to drift?
