Enough. I was not going to respond, but I can't take it anymore. The guy does his job, and although people may not agree with everything he says, I dislike the bashing, insulting, and the jokes about JB. I am not a DIE HARD JB fan. As a matter of fact, in the last year I just began to follow him. He is good with patterns and I enjoy his updates. I see no reason for this.

I think he's pretty knowledgeable. He takes chances in which most Mets would never do. In that is the good part about him. I think his forecast of bombing this system into a hurricane. Is a move that he might regrat if he messes up. But if he is right then he needs to get the respect for it.

The models are hinting at a closed low moving northwestward into the Gulf. So I would not be at all suprized if something did try to get spinning. But a hurricane??? Thats to early with out even a defined LLC.

I like it that he uses past history weather patterns to make his forecast and doesn't just go by the models. I gotta say I kinda like the guy and his sense of humor. As far as tropicsal weather I think he's as good as any currently out there.

Right Matt. He takes chances and when you take chances in weather...and you are high profile...you are going to be wrong and everyone will know it.

JB is highly knowledgable about tropical weather...and pattern recognition. Where he fails is this (and I think this is why the intense dislike is there): He is VERY quick to point out when he is right...and to ride it all the way. He is VERY SLOW to remember when he blew it...and to admit when he was wrong. When you put it all out there for all to see...and with that cocky "I'm right" attitude...people will hunt down the failures and dwell on that. When all of it is out there to see...then you can't hide. HE would make a lot of peace roads if he was not so cocky about being right...and remembered his failues a little more.

But...that is the nature of most forecasters...we remember (loudly) our successes...and forget (quickly) our failures.
