Staring off Monday with more Sev Wx..Heads UP!UPDATED 19:10

#1 Postby Arizwx » Mon May 05, 2003 5:30 am

The atmosphere to the E and S of yesterday's 82 Twister calamity is RIPE.
No scouring at all.The line from near Streetsoldier's Bootheel to Memphis is the demarkation of the Dry line.Cool...moist air at the Sfc to CVG and ENE has a blocking mechanism with Frost advisories to BOX,Mass.
Moisture laden midlevel air with 70F DP has JK/gs off the wall.4500+ 500mb CAPE is very evident from MEM SSE to ATL.
Heads up Breeze,Bill and Perry.
S branch of Jetmax or STJ had a 170+kt heading right into the teeth of the S GOMEX feed mechanism.Downsloping winds from the Rockies has futher destabilized the environment.V-Notch evident from S of MEM at this hour...03:24 PDT 05MAY03.
Early AM tornadoes are EXTREMELY dangerous,as many are with the thinking that they di not occurr at that hr..THEY DO!
N Mississippi and SE Ark are also under SPC Boxed areas.
Tops over 50KFt asl..possibly to 60Kft are probable by Mid AM..Max SFC Heating after 2PM should fire off massive MCS..possible MCC with HP Supercell activity.Multiple Vorticies dropping off of Scud Clouds should offer spectacular footage, hail over 3" probable with outflow winds over 70mph also assoc with isolated rogue Supercells.
NOAA radios at the ready friends!Stay alert!

Great series! The Magic almost pulled a Rabbit out of thier Hat!Maybe next year.
Seriously though,my post w/re to the Sev Wx is to the point and I caution those in the watch/warning areas to take the advisories very seriously!

Looks like a pretty heavy line is taking dead aim on Atlanta.

http://weather.noaa.gov/radar/loop/DS.p19r0/si.kffc.shtml

Looks like it may be setting up for a "train" effect as it moves into the greater Atlanta area. Heads up Georgia folks! :-)

Any confirmation of those cells from yesterday RP?I had the TDWR dialed in as hard as she would go and picked up the 3 TVS/2 Meso I wrote about less than 2 hrs from the time of your post.BTW,there were no SPC /NWS Warnings out for those specific cells at that time.Thx.
