That flight level wind was way up to the north, about 700 miles to the northeast of the center- so I don't think it's significant in terms of defining a circulation.

I am not a retard! That is why I said love that jet. It is the SW wind flow you see on the sat pics.

Oops! Sorry about that, drezee.

It'll be long gone before you leave. It's only 50 miles offshore now, and moving at 10 mph. Do the math....

I wonder, since its so close to landfall, if they will do something like this:

THIS IS A JOKE - NOT A FORCAST OF ANY EVENT

TROPICAL STORM BRET FIRST AND LAST ADVISORY
BUBBA'S HURRICANE AND CAR CARE CENTER
CHALMETTE, LA

TROPICAL STORM BRET FORMED LATE THIS AFTERNOON IN
THE BAY OF CAMPECHE, AND IS MAKING LANDFALL AS I TYPE THIS.
THIS IS FIRST AND LAST ADVISORY FOR BRET.

They may upgrade the system to TD at 5 pm, and then if the plane finds something more, make an special advisory.

That seems the likely course. Even though it probably is a TS already, with recon that close it makes sense to wait.
