what?? where in houston are you?? The lowest I'd ever seen here is $1.87 in Pasadena and now it's back to around $2. The one by my house was $1.94 when I got here last month but is approaching $2.10 now.

Gas prices may become a moot point for me. My car goes in for inspection tomorrow. May have to shoot it and put it out of its misery.

Wow!!!! The lowest I am seeing in our area is around $2.05 for 87 octane. We are usually lower than most areas of the country.

Who are we thanking. The oil company's? OPEC? Environmentalist? Us for driving to much in are SUV'S. Maybe China for throwing away their bikes and buying cars. I think there are many factors and it's only going to get worse if we don't start pumping oil in area's that we control.

We can pump until the cows come home, but we don't have the refineries to process crude into usable products, thanks to EPA and OSHA. As to foreign oil, it comes in as "sweet crude" which still needs to be refined.

As of right now, we have only 14 refineries, two of which are inoperable.

We need at least 30 to meet demand.

Texaco/Chevron is a major refinery here on the MS Gulf Coast. They are upping production.

If you think of how many barrels the world uses a day its hard to imagine that there is much oil left. How long untill we run out at this pace.?

For selfish reasons, I hope that the price per barrel reaches over $100-125.

When it comes down to it though, car-pooling, conservation, and less government bureaucratic's will help as well.....;)
