HUMOR ONLY!!!! NOT SERIOUS POST AT ALL !!!!!!

#1 Postby dhweather » Sat Jun 25, 2005 3:12 pm

THIS IS A JOKE, IT IS NOT AN OFFICIAL PRODUCT OF THE NHC, NOAA,
or any other agency.

Don't you know that during these slow ATL times, especially in
those long and slow El Nino years, the NHC guys dream of
letting one TWO like this loose:

ABNT20 KNHC 242103
TWOAT
TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS TPC/NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL
530 PM EDT TUE OCT 24 1997

FOR THE NORTH ATLANTIC...CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE GULF OF MEXICO...

THE TROPICS REMAIN DEADLY QUIET. IN FACT, THIGS ARE SO SLOW
THAT THE TPC AND TAFB HAVE STOPPED 24 HOUR STAFFING, AND
NOW HAVE DAYS THAT ARE BETTER THAN BANKERS HOURS.

THANKS TO ADVANCED BROADBAND INTERNET CONNECTIVITY,
THE NHC HURRICANE SPECIALISTS CAN STAY AT HOME AND
SUBMIT THE PAINFULLY BORING TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK.

HOW SLOW ARE THINGS? LET ME PUT IT THIS WAY, WE HAVE PLACED
MOST OF THE SATELLITES IN "SLEEP MODE" TO CONSERVE POWER.
THE P3 JET AS WELL AS THE HURRICANE HUNTERS HAVE DRAINED
THE FLUIDS FROM THEIR AIRCRAFT ENGINES AND PUT THE AIRCRAFT
IN STORAGE UNTIL NEXT YEAR, IF CONDITIONS WARRANT.

LUXION AVILA TOOK AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF LEAVE, CITING THAT
HE COULD NO LONGER SIT HERE AND LOOK "AT NOTHING"

JACK BEVEN DECIDED THAT HE WOULD DESIGN A NEW MODEL TO
FORECAST THE ODDS OF LSU HAVING A WINNING FOOTBALL SEASON THIS YEAR.

STACY STEWART HAS BEEN SEDATED AFTER KNOCKING NUMEROUS
HOLES IN THE SHEET ROCK WALLS WITH HIS HEAD DUE TO TOTAL BOREDOM.

JAMES FRANKLIN DECIDED TO SEE IF HE COULD GET HIS GOLF SCORE UNDER 100.

THERE ARE NO TROPICAL WAVES IN THE ATLANTIC, CARRIBREAN SEA,
OR GULF OF MEXICO. STRONG SHEAR PERSISTS THROUGHOUT THE
TROPICAL ATLANTIC. NOTHING HAS FORMED. NOTHING IS GOING TO FORM. ARRRRRRGH !!!!!!!!

ELSEWHERE...TROPICAL STORM FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED THROUGH
1997.

haha thats really funny!!! It's to bad the that actual reports dont even seem to have the slightest humor in them even during really slow times...you would think that these guys would want to throw at least a joke or two in there every now and then during the slow times....

Bring on football season :D LSU will have a tough season due players passing out in the cloudless skies and no tropical moisture. Miami changes it's nickname from Canes to Dust Devils.

We must be a little crazy for activity after that lol..

I think the local NWS offices occasionally become smart alecs when they're bored.. or when they know there's a storm coming lol
