I've watched them building some of the hotels, and they are basically a solid framework with no real exterior walls. The walls are some type of foam sheeting. (As the photo in the article indicates, just 70 MPH winds ripped all the exterior off of the building in that portion of the structure.)

If a strong hurricane comes through, it seems to me the hotels will be gutted for sure. You definitely wouldn't 't want to be in one during landfall.

Yep a good cat 3 will wipe out the casino industry on the Mississippi coast. Hurricane Georges, a cat 2 at landfall caused considerable damage to the casinos. The Grand Casino in Biloxi was closed several weeks because of damage.......MGC
