A Woman's Random Thoughts

#1 Postby sunny » Sun Jun 19, 2005 8:40 am

Skinny people tick me off! Especially when they say things like, "You know sometimes I just forget to eat." Now I've forgotten my address, my mother's maiden name, and my keys. But I've never forgotten to eat. You have to be a special kind of stupid to forget to eat.

A friend of mine confused her valium with her birth control pills. She had 14 kids, but she doesn't give a darn.

They keep telling us to get in touch with our bodies. Mine isn't all that communicative but I heard from it the other day after I said, "Body, how'd you like to go to the six o'clock class in vigorous toning?" Clear as a bell my body said, "listen witch... do it and die."

The trouble with some women is that they get all excited about nothing, and then they marry him.

I read this article that said the typical symptoms of stress are eating too much, smoking too much, drinking too much, driving too fast, and impulse buying. Are they kidding? That is my idea of a perfect day.

I know what Victoria's Secret is. The secret is that nobody older than 30 can fit into their stuff.

"If men can run the world, why can't they stop wearing neckties? How intelligent is it to start the day by tying a noose around your neck?"

Stephanie - I can relate. I used to tuck all my shirts in too, wearing a belt! Now I buy shorter, cropped tops or sweaters, often in Petite sizes b/c they are shorter. Combined with lower rise pants, all of it spells comfort.

My kids howl at old pics of me - high rise pants or shorts (long to the knee), tops tucked in tight, with a belt.

Now I wear capri's and tops, untucked!

LOL

The cropped tops would be obscene for me! I just wear them long - over those pants and pray that my underwear doesn't stick out when I sit!

Ok you two. I have decided I don't care for either of you two skinny ladies. :grr: Just teasing of course.
Last time I was in a crop top was 11 months old. I wore it over diapers (real clothe) and it was really a summer baby vest I had already outgrown.

As for forgetting to eat, Sunny. I do it all the time. My Grandson ask me one day if he could ask a question without hurting my feelings. The question was, "Mema, how can you stay so heavy when you don't eat that much. You eat less than any of the rest of us." I hugged him hard. :) :)

Oh, God love him MomH! Such innocence :D

There are times when I wish I COULD forget to eat. I get horrible headaches when I skip meals.

Steph - I meant tops that come several inches below my waist, over the waistband of my capri's or pants. Never, ever showing my midriff (a major fashion trend pet peeve of mine, :-),) Now something tells me you'd look nice in these tops. I just didn't want you think I wore very short tops - eek! Hate them....LOL Here's a top I would wear.....

I'm set for summer though. If I had money to burn I'd buy that top!

I used to wear very long sweaters or blouses, the length that was popular with leggings, many years ago. I gave all of these away anyway!

As for the eating or skipping meals question, I have skipped. Have to admit that, and it's for a peculiar reason. An adjustment I had to make after my colon surgery, years ago. But I eat well before I skip dinner and make up for it the next day. You should see me out with a group of couples, who suddenly decide to get a table and not sit at the bar (if we're having drinks, listening to live music later). When it's my turn to order food I just smile and say Michelob only please. Thankfully most of the women know what I go thru and don't give me a hard time. I just do not want to spend my night in a nightclub's bathroom, eh hum, when I would much rather have fun on the dance floor. You really can skip one meal here or there and you'll do okay (except for you sunny, feel for ya with the headaches). I also eat one yogurt cup mid-afternoon the day I'm skipping dinner. That really helps. Keeps hunger at bay for hours.

Miss Mary - that's something I'd wear as well. I thought you were talking about the crop tops. I was getting jealous!
